¿Quién es Claudia Fanelli?
Déjenme aclarar algo primero- no soy cubana. Soy una mujer italiana-americana, nacida en el bello estado de Pennsylvania, en la ciudad de Filadelfía y orgullosa de mis raíces. Mis abuelos vinieron del sur de Italia y de Sicilia con sus padres a causa de la pobreza y por querer formar una vida mejor para sus hijos. A mí me interesa mucho la historia de Cuba y su gente porque enseño español, incluso la histora, cultura y litereratura de varios países latinoamericanos, entre ellos, la nación de Cuba. He vivido en México y Guatemala y he pasado mucho tiempo en Perú y hace 25 años que estudio y hablo español. En septiembre de este año cumplo 16 años enseñando español y la verdad es que no me veo en ninguna otra carrera. Me fascina leer y escribir y conocer a gente de diferentes culturas, especialmente latinoamericanas. Allow me to clarify something first- I am not Cuban. I am an Italian-American, born in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania, in the city of Philadelphia, and proud of my roots. My grandparents came from Southern Italy and Sicily with their parents because they were poor and they wanted to make a better life for themselves and their children. I am very interested in Cuba's history and its people because I teach Spanish, including the history, culture and literature of various Latin American countries, among them, Cuba. I have lived in Mexico and Guatemala and I have spent a lot of time in Peru. I have been studying and speaking Spanish for 25 years. In September of this year I begin my 16th year teaching Spanish and the truth is, I don't see myself in any other career. I love to read and write and meet people from different cultures, especially Latin America.
